yes it is. Brisk walking though. Challaenge yourself while walking. I lost 1 kg over two weeks. It helps keep body fit and fine. helps strengthen other parts of body along with weight loss. and start eating fibrous food.

Walking is more effective for toning muscles and skin rather than weight loss. In order to lose weight your heart needs to be pumping quite fast (you should at least be puffing/feeling like you are exercising). If you want you can power walk/jog or trying mountain hiking up steep terrain, that would be a great and effective way to lose weight.

Exercise will not make up for a bad diet, but once you clean up your eating habits, any exercise will help you tone and lose the last few pounds.

Yes, of course it is! The best thing about walking is it is good almost for any one. Other exercises may not be suitable for certain conditions. Walking is the only exercise which will suit most people. Apart from several benefits I enjoy the following things in walking.
1. It is free
2. I lose weight healthily and am able to maintain that.
3. I lose weight and gain health.
4. I feel strong.
6. I feel a lot better than before every week.

Can you really lose weight walking? This is a common question since a lot of people are serious about losing weight. The reason why walking is such an effective exercise to lose weight is because it is very low impact and low intensity. What this means is that anyone can get started walking and begin dropping pounds without putting too much effort in it.
Walking is a great exercise for people just starting to get involved with losing some weight. Many people trying to drop some pounds make the mistake in trying to do too much. More than likely, these people haven’t been active for many years, yet they try to quickly lose weight by starting high intensity weight training, or other high intensity exercises.
Not only can you really lose weight walking, but it’s a great way to get in shape and get healthier. Moreover, walking is something that can easily fit in anyone’s schedule, because you can walk for about 10 minutes two to three times per day and still get the similar impact like if you went outside and walked for 30 minutes.
To really lose weight walking you should start off by walking up to 30 minutes 2 to 3 times each week. When your fitness level improves you can eventually increase the amount of days and the amount of time you spend walking. Once your stamina increases you can begin walking 60 minutes for 4 to 5 times each week.
Also, to help you really lose weight walking you can add light weight dumbbells to your walking routine. By adding weights to your walking you can build more upper body strength.
When you begin a walking routine you will need a good pair of walking shoes. Most shoe stores have a trained staff that will help you pick out the proper foot wear you need depending on your weight loss goals.
You should also invest in some clothing that is comfortable to wear. The type of clothing you need are those that are made out of material that quickly absorbs water from your body.
Although you can really lose weight walking, you must start off slow and then gradually increase the intensity of your walking workout. To Increase the intensity and speed up your weight loss goals you can walk up a hill to burn more calories and increase your endurance level.
