Are there affordable skin care products that won't cause cancer?

I recently discovered that many skin care and hair care products can cause cancer. I am trying to lead the healthiest lifestyle I can and I was wondering if there are any organic or natural products out there? Also, I am very much so on a budget, so any websites that are inexpensive or any "do it yourself" style recipes for home, would be great! I am looking for all types of products from skin care, to shave gel and toothpaste and shampoo:) Thanks so much in advance!

In terms of weight loss, how fast is too fast?

I am 14 and am around 6" and have been trying to lose weight, and have lost about twenty pounds in about 2 and 1/2 months. I weighed around 180 and am now around 160. My concern is if that was too fast. My friend seems to think about half of it was water weight. What would be a good pace to continue to lose weight.

What's the best way to patch an air mattress?

I just use an air mattress for a bed (being a college student means you’ve got a tight budget, as I’m sure any college student knows), and the other day it got a half-inch rip right on the top, right at the seam. I bought a mattress patching kit and applied a small square patch (roughly 1" by 1") on it. Yes, I did deflate the mattress first. However, this morning I woke up and it felt like I was laying in a hammock. I checked again – sure enough, my half-inch rip continued to tear along the seam on the top of the mattress.I applied three more patches (for good measure) using a lot more of the glue supplied (fairly strong stuff) AND a layer of duct tape on top, just for good measure. I even applied some heavy weight on top of it before I left for school today, just to make sure it’s clamped down while it dries. However, I’m skeptical about this – I fear it’ll rip even further. If that happens, what’s the best way I can patch it up? These patches apparently aren’t doing their job, so what else can I do?
The top of the mattress, where the hole is, is kinda… "lumpy" for lack of a better term. Therefore, it’s kinda hard for duct tape to stick on it and stay stuck once inflated.

Effective weight loss help?

Hey I’m 15 years old, 5’4" and 138 lbs. I would like to get into the 110-120 range. I’m moderately active now and spend most of the day on my feet, bike about 2.5 miles 3x/wk, and go to dance class 1x/wk for an hour. My weight is never really consistant in the course of 2 wks It’ll drop to maybe 137 and then rise up to 145. I can never seem to get it below 136 or so unless im sick or something.
Help in overcoming this? I don’t like fish (At all) and I dont want to ask my parents to change their lifestyle/eating habits overly much.
O, and any exercises to loose excess fat on tummy/thighs?

Thanks.

What have you heard or what would you guess is the best job a non-citizen mexican women w/o degree can get?

If a man were to marry this woman and a second income is needed, what advice do you have for them and their future household?

Also…the woman’s english is good…but not great.
she is a legal resident.
thanks, annie.

this question in women’s studies was removed because someone "answered" me simply by proofreading my question for typos. so i told her what i thought she did for a living.

i was less than flattering.

I'm desperately trying to find a way to lose weight…?

I’ve tried making myself throw-up (stupid…I know) but I stopped after my best-friend found out and forced me to stop. Then I tried exercising while I’m in my room alone (sit-ups for example) but got angry after I saw no results after a LONG time (I actually think I gained weight a little) Then I started to cut back on my eating but then my mom started saying things like "I hardly ever see you eat" etc etc. And if I asked my mom I wanted to eat all healthy stuff she would eventually pick up on my trying to lose weight and lecture me on how I’m fine the way I am, blah blah blah. And since I’m only 14 it’s not like I can go out and buy my own groceries or get weight-loss products.

I don’t want everyone around me to know that I’m trying to lose weight and I’d rather keep it to myself if possible.
Are there any other ways to lose weight fast besides these?

What is wrong with this country? Infomercial about slimming underwear?

I’m watching this infomercial right now about this slimming underwear that tucks in your fat bulges and makes you look slimmer.

This product is called the "Kymaro New Body Shaper", and this infomercial features a bunch of fat & chubby women with flabby guts, and they’re trying on this slimming garment that they wear around their torso under their shirts. And they’re all happy & proud of how it slims their stomachs down… one woman even said she can eat as much as she wants now that she has the slimming garment.

Do these women know that they’re still fat? It’s just a cosmetic effect — making the person look slimmer. It’s not making them weigh less, be in better shape, or have lower cholesterol. Wouldn’t the better alternative be diet & exercise?

Which style dress is most flattering for a company Christmas party? **LONG QUESTION?

This is going to be long winded but I pray that someone who knows how to dress for her body can shed some light on this for me. Please consider my body flaws and strengths, what I already own, the casual venue, my style, and the need to make a great, lasting impression.

My husband has worked at his new company for 4 months and it is an excellent position. I am supposed to play the role of trophy wife and I look forward to meeting all his colleagues here. I am trying to dazzle again, like I did before all the weight packed on. I’m 21 and into black, red, dark grey and I love brown for casual looks. The venue is too casual for my taste, but it is typically a very dressy occasion for the company, who used to go to a high end restaurant. I expect all the men to at least wear button down shirts and ties, but probably suits, no jeans. I don’t want to overdress, but I didn’t want to wear pants unless I have to.. I like SUPER dressy. Here is the boring venue’s website: http://gaetanostavern.com/ct/wallingford/gaetanos/

The party is tomorrow, so I planned to shop my friends’ closets first, then go shop for anything else I may need. I can afford to spend . max. I am losing weight like mad and don’t want to get stuck with another "too big" dress.

I gained 50lbs (during pregnancy) and then lost 55. The weight has redistributed itself so I have a very different body. I need help deciding between cuts and styles of dresses that would flatter me.

I am 5’9"+ and I prefer to wear heels. I have a larger, muscular build which seems to hide my weight of 145lbs. I have slim but muscular arms, somewhat broad shoulders, a bony chest, 34-36 C-D cup breasts, flat stomach. My "new" body weight is carried on the outer, upper thigh (just below the hips, and it kind of comes to a point) and love handles that are mostly on my back, like low back fat, while i have wide hips that are bony in front. weird.
I’m not used to looking or dressing this way and I want to hide my lower half while still being the sexy young wife that i am! No gauchos or palazzo pants please.

Current options (in my old closet, could be size 6 to 10):
I have a red wrap dress that is a real wrap, not a mock, and it ties in front. I think this would hide the thighs, but I’m not sure about the handles. I’d probably want to wear black taller boots to give it some edge and add a casual feel.
I have another A line red dress that is just above the knees. Very plain, not so sexy.
I have a black turtleneck with cutouts on the chest and shoulders with rhinestones in it. I think it might be a bit big, and I don’t know what to wear on the bottom. This top would overpower the bottoms easily.
I have a grey sweaterdress that is really casual and not so flattering on lovehandles. Could I pull off a light color sweater dress at this type of function????

I just bought these accessories, I’d like to wear at least one of them:

This in gold: http://www.forever21.com/product.asp?catalog_name=FOREVER21&category_name=acc_necklace&product_id=1070644409&Page=4

Black bows covered in sequins for my hair.
I have tons of other costume jewelry that is up-to-the-minute.

*** I can get to the mall, here are the stores I can shop at: Charlotte Russe, Forever 21 (I didnt see ANYthing there), Express, Wet Seal, The Limited (getting pricey) Macy’s ***

Thank you so much for your help.
