Is it true that if you start to tone your body when you're obese, then you'll be badly built?
That’s what many people tell me. Some people tell me to focus on slimming down 1st & then tone my body later & others tell me to tone while slimming. I’m confused.

A friend of mine mentioned that loosing while exercising is good but to remember that if you tone your muscles they are going to tone behind the fat and make the fat look more prominent for a while anyway. For example your stomach muscle. If you start working on exercises to tighten that area and have fat there then your fat will look pushed out because of the muscle mass behind the fat. I hope that is clear.

Tone while slimming. If you slim down then u might have a bunch of loos skin that u won’t be able to tighten up later. Loose a little tone a little and keep it going.

Well, something you should think about is that gaining muscle will help you burn fat more quickly. By focusing only on slimming down first with eating more healthy, you will be losing weight fairly slowly. By incorporating both cardio and strength training, you will lose weight more quickly.
I have actually never heard that toning while obese will give you a bad build.

What I heard is that if you tone while obese, you’ll have a "marble" effect of muscle and fat mixed together. It doesn’t really affect how you look on the outside–only on the inside.
Best thing is to tone up now and do aerobics so you’ll lose as much fat as possible. Once you are thin, you’ll lose the marbled fat anyway if you continue to exercise and tone up. Just go for it now. Good luck to you!

You should be exercising along the way! Cardio is great for weight loss, but it never hurts to work on increasing your muscle strength as well. Just don’t overdo it! I’d suggest working with light weights for a while.

it depends how overweight you are,
but i think you should do some type of cardio everyday to burn fat and calories
and weight training/toning 3-4 times a week
the toning will build long lean muscle that will make your metabolism faster and it will be easier to lose weight
by the way
dont forget a healthy diet full of fresh food
